Free GDPR cookie banner generator

GDPR requires prior, explicit opt-in before non-essential cookies run. This generator ships an EU/UK opt-in banner that blocks cookies until the visitor consents — and records the decision as proof.

After you install

1. Paste the snippet once

Put the install snippet just before </head> on every page (your theme layout or site-wide header). The banner shows on the next page load and every consent decision is recorded from that moment — no account, no build step.

2. Add a permanent “Cookie settings” link

GDPR requires that withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it — visitors must be able to reopen the banner after their first choice. The widget listens for a click on the element with the id pieeye-DNSS-cookie-settings (“DNSS” = Do Not Sell or Share — this link doubles as the California opt-out reopener) and reopens the preference banner. The snippet below also tags the element with the plain pieeye-cookie-settings class/data-attribute as a forward-compatible alias — the id above is still what makes it work today, so don’t remove it. Paste this into your site footer:

<a href="#" id="pieeye-DNSS-cookie-settings" class="pieeye-DNSS-cookie-settings pieeye-cookie-settings-class pieeye-cookie-settings" data-pieeye-cookie-settings="true">Cookie settings</a>

Visitors see their current choices and can change or withdraw consent at any time — the withdrawal is recorded just like the original consent.

GDPR opt-in

Blocks non-essential cookies until the visitor consents — the prior-consent model EU/UK regulators require.

CCPA / Do-Not-Sell

Opt-out model with a clear 'Do Not Sell or Share' choice for California visitors.

GPC honored

Automatically respects the browser's Global Privacy Control signal — no extra setup.

Shopify-ready

Pure copy-paste snippet — no app to install, works on any theme or platform.
